great hostingbroken techlinear
We were in Sheffield for something else and tried this as a 'walk-in' which they were really good to arrange for us and we thank them for this. The host was also very friendly and helpful throughout. The room was quite small and looked a little worn...  The prison concept was okay but not much immersion from dark painted rooms with a gate.  Some of the puzzles were a little vague and, when we eventually figured out what we needed to so with one puzzle (after a hint as nothing was obvious) the GM had to 'assist' from outside the room.  There could have been a little more info in the room which would have assisted in making this clearer.Overall okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play...

This room was good for two or three players, I think bigger groups would struggle to find enough for everyone to do. There was one clue we were given without asking but that we also wouldn’t have really known exactly what to do without the clue so this could have been better incorporated into the info already in the room. The wear and tear of the room sometimes helped or hindered searching/puzzle solving. Quite fun though!

It's quite dull looking, but I care more about engaging, original puzzles and this place has them.

I'd imagine your average group will find the puzzles too difficult as they have a lot of variables to them which then need to be communicated to the other groups, as this is a split start. However I like those kind of puzzles.

The lack of any decoration means my memory of any one puzzle is hazy, but I remember having a good time with the room, so the puzzles must have been engaging.

However, these guys are cheap, when they did this room, they had not raised their prices like everyone else did as a result of the inflation in summer 2022

quite easy

Too small and very easy. If this place fits 6, it must be a tight fit. I can’t really see what 4 people would do if 6 were in either. Potentially good if bigger.

As in most prison games, this is a split start but you can see each and co-operation/communication is key.  There's a couple of puzzles that initially seem daunting but be observant of your surroundings.
