Our first escape stop in Hamburg during our Escapade weekend. We were so excited to start our evening with an 11pm room in the middle of a busy party street. We loved the setup of the room, we started in complete darkness which really put us in the mood. The whole room and puzzles really makes you feel like you are in a magician secret room, loads of puzzles are very smart and we loved ever minutes of our escape. There were a lot of red herrings and we didn't manage to really see what was actually a clue or part of a puzzle but it added to the feeling of immersion as we still escaped in time. Well escape is a big word as our objective was to find Marvinis book of immortality and not technically escape. This is what was surprising with this room as it wasn't ticking all the box of what you expect in a room (more than on room, no escape through the same door, the game master not entering the room) but with its flow and the story being well explained and executed, we enjoyed every second of it! With 5 of us in the room, we didn't feel overcrowded but we also didn't feel like we were missing out on clues or puzzles being solved by each others. Really clever room!

Good fun, but showing its age a little compared to the other rooms - lovely props, and a couple of lovely puzzles. Would still recommend but not in the same league as the Ernies.

Skurrilum's reputation precedes them, and we added on a side trip to Hamburg purely to try out their games. Frustratingly, only two of their five games are currently available in English, with the rest requiring fluent German, but we eagerly booked into the two we could play.

Malvini's Legacy tells the story of a magician who discovered a book in which one could write one's name to gain immortality, and then vanished. On a dark and stormy night you have the opportunity to search his study to di...

Home to the two best games I've played - the Ernie Hudson mysteries. They're the real deal: immersion, exploration, theatre, puzzles, decoration, audio, flow and narrative. In every way I can image, they deliver. And the other games aren't bad either. If you're ever in Hamburg go and play these games. And if you ever have the chance to go to Hamburg, seize it!

Malvini's Legacy was a wonderful experience for us that unfortunately went by way too fast. Despite the 40 minutes it took us, we didn't feel like we missed anything.
