A series of "light" puzzlehunt-esque puzzles contained in a regular-sized pack of cards, with a novel answer-checking mechanism that works well to confirm guesses and guide you onto the next puzzle. Unfortunately, a few Americanisms meant that we had to rely on the hints/Google in a few places which is a shame, but otherwise a pretty neat, compact puzzling experience.

Iโd barely heard of Doctor Eskerโs Notebook, and wasnโt even sure if it was a puzzle game or other sort of card game when the publisher sent me a copy to try. Thatโs always a risky thing for a publisher to do, since Iโm fairly merciless about criticising bad or average games - but Doctor Esker turned out to be as pleasing a puzzle game as Iโve played in some time.
Thereโs little to classify it as an โescapeโ game - no narrative to speak of, no time limit unless you wish to impose one on yoursel...
