Another fantastic escape room from Share-Lock. Just like Biohazard (Risego Viral) the theming and storyline are brilliant, but The Mine (La Mina) takes top prize for immersion. You're in the dark with torches for the first 1/3 or so, and the whole room is decorated like a real underground mine. The mine walls are decorated to look like rocks and wood, and in the dark (and light) you really do feel like you're underground - besides the giveaway of the air conditioning units in the ceiling, but they are an absolute treat with the warm weather. What was standout for me was the floor, which is covered in stones and dirt, which is outstanding attention to detail as far as escape rooms go. How many escape room floors can you remember? At one point you do have to crawl through a low entrance accross this floor, so you might want to avoid wearing shorts if you cannot squat low and would have to crawl.

Again, the puzzles were challenging but solvable. One in particular, a drill machine we had to program, was probably my favourite puzzle I've done in an escape room. Even though it was quite difficult, the way you solve it is so cleverly thought through and I just loved it. And again, Manuel was our host and was exceptional. He was in character pretending to recruit and interview us to work in the mine from when he opened the door to us. Unlike our Spanish, his English was impeccable. And at the end of the room and once we had done our team photo he restarted the room and played it through with us to show what we'd each individually missed when we were solving different puzzles. He let my partner play through a puzzle I solved with my Dad, and he showed my Dad and I how a puzzle my partner had solved had worked. He was very generous with his time and his explanation of how the room worked and told us about future plans for the rooms.

I would highly recommend The Mine (La Mina) to any escape room enthusiasts or novices in Almeria, whether on holiday or residents. This is Share-Lock's best room, but there is a gnat's hair between them.
