Hate to be so down on a game, but this had no magic or fun. The puzzles were boring and uninspired. It was the case of searching everywhere and riddles/needing some outside knowledge.

Hints had to come as nothing was clearly signposted. Considering the price and playing loudini’s recently, this was an embarrassment!

Tough room to review - it was fun, but also obviously intellectual theft.

Whilst the room is named "School of Witchcraft and Wizardry", and you can guess the implication, once inside, it's obvious that Enigma Quests have come up with nothing original and have entirely ripped off the Harry Potter franchise world. I don't suppose they're paying any royalties.

Everything down to the names of the classes you'll be taking and the spells you'll be using are taken verbatim from Harry Potter. Great if you like Harry Potter. Less great if you get a sense of unease from intellectual theft.

The puzzles themselves were relatively easy, but still engaging and entertaining. I suspect the set has seen better days (there were actual holes in some of the walls).

The host was nice, but not particularly engaging when we first arrived. Can probably put that down to him being new.

In summary, an ok room. Not special regarding the puzzles. Set's dated (and ripped off). Very expensive (you have to pay for three people as a team of two on the weekend - made it Β£105 for two on a Saturday). Would recommend for teams of more than two who don't have an issue with intellectual theft.

Fans of a certain best-selling series of children's books will particularly like this room, but it's a lot of fun whether you've read them or not. The room gives you a grade according to how much of the room you've completed, a friendlier approach than a simple success/failure outcome.

There is not a single padlock in the room and the puzzles use carefully hidden sensors. Occasionally the absence of a visible mechanism meant it was hard to tell what was part of a puzzle and what was decoration;...

Outside the room I've been following Enigma Questsβ€˜ progress since they first launched on Facebook just over six months ago, through their successful crowdfunding campaigns and their trials and tribulations in getting their venue up and running, so I was excited to see how it had turned out. Everything in advance looked good – they'd been giving

Our first real life, physical escape room since lockdown happened and it was … Magical! It played like a dream for the discerning Harry Potter fan out there. In School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, your goal is not to escape. Far from it – you, a student at the Wizarding School, must work within the time limit to pass 5 exams. History of Magic, Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms and Runes. After all, why would I want to escape from Hogwa- I mean, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?

We try to graduate from the school of witchcraft and wizardry in this unofficial Harry Potter escape room in London.
A variation on β€œyou’re in here, now get out”, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry makes progress more tangible and has great theming of its puzzles.
