Ever wondered what happens after you die? Does heaven exist? What if you’re sent to hell? As mere mortals we do not have the answers to these questions. However today you have the opportunity to find out. You are about to enter a state of hibernation. This will last for one hour and give you the chance to explore the afterlife. After your adventure you will use a defibrillator so that you can return to life as we know it. However please bear in mind the defibrillator only works for one hour! If you do not find it in time, you may be stuck in hell forever! It could also be heaven, but in this case it’s nearly the same thing…
Please note: This game contains a smoke machine and some confined spaces.

Played this in 2020 - still sticks in my mind as one of the most memorable rooms - specifically for one particular method of transition! The theming was brilliant

Superb variety of puzzles and set pieces, very immersive via physical interactivity. Puzzles flowed very smoothly and chimed well with the beautifully decorated rooms.

Not claustrophobia / accessibility friendly.

I loved the concept and there were some clever ideas and puzzles, but our host sounded bored, some of the props were faulty, the dim lighting in parts meant we struggled to find what we needed to see and I have no idea how we were supposed to solve one of the puzzles. Disappointing.

Playing on a different occasion to Chris's visit, my experience matched his in some respects and contrasted in others. Our group did in fact include someone who was quite uncomfortable with the more claustrophobic moments of the game, but the gamemaster was happy to help her bypass the one section that she'd have struggled with.

We had similar problems with the opening puzzle, spending ten minutes stuck until we swallowed our pride and accepted a hint. Both that and the other times we struggled...

The original Heaven and Hell in Budapest is an immensely popular game, and this version of it in the UK has been faithfully recreated in case anyone can’t make the trip out to Central Europe. We really enjoyed our experience at Heaven and Hell, and spent a lot of the trip back into London discussing which was our favourite of the two we played at Cambridge Escape Rooms, this one or The Secret Clubhouse.

A venue with one great game and two that are solid but not exciting. Heaven & Hell is one of the stand out games in Budapest and should be on your to do list but only visit the other two if you’re doing 20+ games.
During the last year, we have visited Budapest not one, not two, but three times. We fell in love with the capital of Hungary because of its hip look & feel, the great amount of awesome and diverse restaurants & bars and most of all, the huge number of Escape Rooms. We will kick-off our Budapest Escape […]
