The second of the unlock games that we’ve played. I preferred Squeak & Sausage but that’s not saying it wasn’t a good game. There were no puzzles that were very memorable.

The Formula is O.K.; it suffers from the usual science-lab problem where the trappings of science are combined in somewhat arbitrary ways. This particular one feels like a simulation of an escape room, including "escape room logic".

In general, Unlock! is less puzzly than games like EXIT, but more about intuiting how to combine objects in a logical way. The penalty system can be a bit off putting. Nothing is destroyed; the game may be given away and used by another team.

It's probably our favourite unlock game to date. It works really well as an experience but also feels the most like an escape room experience. With the addition of a different type of puzzle beyond the usual, it adds another dimension to the unlock game series.
