Lost the Plot
This was another trial-run I did with other new recruits when I was working for Tick Tock.
Having survived a plane crash, reunite with your group and disable an electromagnet device to prevent your memories being wiped. Lost meets Memento, maybe? The set-up didn't really line up with the ultimate goal.
Although there wasn't an awful lot, we still had enough to be getting on with. Teamwork was crucial in the first part. The final puzzle took a lot of time and effort, and the components it used was very clever.
The 'jungle' was lacklustre; a couple of the items inside were random, if not out of place. The electromagnet area was drab.
If the story isn't strong enough, it just seems like you've been thrown into a room to solve a few brainteasers and hopefully have a good time. Meh.
"Aah, a zombie!"
I used to work at this branch, and played this room as part of my induction
(along with three other new starters, so this is technically the first escape
room I've done with strangers).
Visit an abandoned lab where the undead have been created in order to...put the pieces of Doctor Mara Thanatos' final work together...to prevent humanity from going extinct. To be honest, I never really got my head around this one. It didn't make any more sense in the room, either.
The first section was easy enough, but then it got tough, despite there not being an awful lot of them. A fair bit of the equipment was rather run-down.
It just about passed for an abandoned lab ravaged by the undead, though there wasn't much scientific equipment lying around.
Having a live actor zombie really added to the experience...perhaps a little too much, though, as I was too frightened to think straight! The room would have been too bare and basic without.
