Some nice puzzles but the whole room is in the semi-dark which always detracts for me as I find it frustrating to not be able to see puzzles properly.

One of my favourite ever rooms. We had an amazing GM who must have been running around behind the scenes. The room looks a little basic but, honestly, it was so much fun we really didn't notice. The puzzles are great and the way the scares work (you jump, then laugh, then get on with solving) made it enormous fun. A riot.

Great room - Scary by my standards but I'm a wimp. All the rooms at Escape Reading are great. I preferred some others but that's more down to their theming, rather than the quality.

Did on "non-scary" mode, in it for the puzzles.

Really enjoyed this escape room, quite basic in its build but lots of jump scares and great hosting

Relatively straight forward creepy horror game, you can choose to either a have a "more scary" or "less scary" experience (I can't remember which one we chose in the end).  Puzzles are relatively straight forward and feature a typical combination of search, logic and visual.

Horror rooms are a varied lot, and can be anything from puzzle-driven games with a few blood splatters and fake severed fingers to set the scene, through to full on terror experiences where solving anything is complicated by flickering lights and chainsaw-wielding maniacs. Both of the games at Escape Reading's centre-of-town branch are horror themed, and of the two Vampire Slayers is the one that sets out to scare you. But while it doesn't hold back at trying to make you jump, it's not at all gr...

This wasn’t the hardest or scariest of games, but all the puzzles clicked and we flew through it. Probably not a challenging room for experienced players, but it was a solid and fun game that we were glad to have played.
The Vampire Slayers is designed as a scary game – it’s not a full on horror experience, but it’s a step up from many of the β€œscary” games we’ve tried. It’s worth noting at the top we were playing a slightly neutered variant of game, because of one of our team not being great with scary stuff but still having a compulsive desire to play every escape game possible. We did get a walkthrough of what we missed though.
