Travel back through time to the abandoned Quartz laboratory. Located in a bomb shelter in Broadstairs, this laboratory has been kept secret for decades. Only recently discovered by The Network; the highest order of military intelligence.
There's no official government documentation of the Quartz Machine but rumours describing an artificially intelligent machine, engineered by a German nuclear physicist hellbent on causing world chaos have been leaked.
We now need a brave team to go head to head with Quartz in order to destroy its physical construct and annihilate it from the world, for good.
Can you take on an artificially intelligent bot and win?

Loved the ending to this game so much, pure chaos but was so much fun! Great puzzles all linked perfectly to the theme and there was some great subtle things to notice within them. Fun mix of more video game style, observation and logic too. Really recommend going before they close for good

originalimmersivegreat hosting
I have to start by shouting out James, our host, whose sense of humour and refusal to break character not only set a great tone for our game... but also saw us through an unfortunate power cut that occurred during our third or fourth puzzle! These things happen and it's nobody's fault, and he and another member of staff got us back up and running with little delay, but he deserves all the praise going for the chirpy irony with which he handled it. He also gave us a detailed debrief after the game, which might not be for everyone, but was up our street. Big up James.
The game itself is terrific fun. Experienced players will have seen most of the puzzles before in some form or other but there's a nice variety of them and they aren't trivial, you do need to pay attention. But gradually the intensity of the game increases and, while it isn't as physically demanding as Atlantis, it begins to ask more of you than just puzzle-solving skills. An immense amount of work has gone into making this room and while I won't go into detail, the finale is incredibly good fun and unlike any game you're likely to have played before. Enormously recommended.
We weren't sure what to expect here, particularly whether or not we would escape in time as a team of two.Our GM - Agent L (Lewis) - was in role from the very beginning. His storytelling was superb and it felt incredibly immersive from the get-go. The set design is absolutely fantastic and the use of tech is extremely impressive. The puzzles were really enjoyable and the final section.... Wow! This game is a lot of fun and, along with the insanely good build, really ranks up there in terms of WW2 rooms that we've done.

We were expecting amazing things from this room having done the Atlantis room on this site. Whilst it was still a very good room it wasnโt a patch on Atlantis and left me feeling a bit disappointed afterwards. The story can be a bit confusing at times. Thereโs no voice that comes into the room, the host enters multiple times which detracts from the overall experience. It didnโt feel like there was as much to do in this room as there is in many others. Worth doing but not as amazing as Iโd expected

Great set and puzzles and enjoyed some original moments throughout the game. Unusually, for this company there were a couple of things we weren't so keen on. One being the hint system as the GM came into the room a couple of times which broke the immersion. I'm not sure whether this is normal for this room, or if it was because we had issues with the tech a couple of times - we didn't actually want any help in terms of what to do, but seemed to be struggling to signpost this. Secondly, not a fan of the praise sandwich feedback at the end - was quite judgemental! Did struggle to gel with the GM on this occasion so on that basis we did prefer Atlantis as this venue. However, if comparing against average quality then Escapement overall do still set a high bar for the UK.
This game was a long time in the making, but Iโm pleased to report that the wait was 100% worth it. The Escapement have created a game here that will surely go to the top of peopleโs โTop 10โ lists, we need to rejig ours, as this is firmly up there for sure.
Anyone who loves the war staples of code-breaking and military secrets will love this room. It has a real Cold War movie vibe and it is, to a large extent, very based on intellectual challenges with a classic puzzling feel.
Great puzzles, great story, amazing hosts, amazing finale!
