A Room Lockdown super fan, I was sad to see the horror rooms go. They all set a high bar in their own right. That said, after doing every single Room Lockdown escape room, I was excited for a bunch of new rooms to play! After being led into this room, I was admittedly a bit disappointed to find this is less a new game and more a reskin of the previous room, Roots of Evil. Some puzzles were also the same, but reskinned to suit a more family friendly theme. It's also a little more difficult to forget this was Roots of Evil when elements of Roots remain, but are not involved in this game, such as the bed (which formed the fantastic finale in the Roots room), the doors into other rooms are the same, etc. I think more could have been done with the grand mansion theming. That said, there are some new parts in this game. I didn't enjoy the QR code elements of the game. With a small team of two, we escaped with 17 minutes to spare. This is quite a lot of time left for such a small team. I hope Room Lockdown revert their decision to implement a QR code clue system into their games, as this takes you out of the immersion. Lock up our phones, and give me a walkie-talkie any day. And as always, the hosting is PHENOMINAL. You will be welcomed by worlds best hosts here. They love the art of escape rooms and it shows in their hosting.
