Escape room number 6 for our team of 3, one we had been looking forward to and it didn't disappoint! Our host Ross was very friendly and explained the game very well.

If you read any  mentions saying this game is similar to the "Crystal Maze" there are similarities but we'd say the rooms aren't as big as you might think but the way the puzzles playout and how they are designed are similar to the TV show.

For a team of three to finish 6 minutes under time without any clues tells you that , a team of 4 would probably be the ideal number but, any number would be able to complete the puzzles.

The game design and overall theme was excellent and the games were fun and intuitive, a lot of logical puzzles mixed in with a skill puzzle or two make this a fantastic experience.

Our only negative comment would be that air conditioning would've been great as it was 24 degrees outside and wearing helmets in small spaces, we were all sweating profusely, had it been 30 plus degrees outside, the rooms would have been excrutiatingly hot. there are small hand held fans available and we regretted not taking them but, our overall experience was not ruined due to this matter.

If you haven't played Journey to Xibalba, book up and enjoy, you won't regret it!!

A very crystal maze experience - more rooms and climbing & crawling than a typical escape room and lots of quite visceral physical puzzles, was a good fun time even with the chaos of 7 of us, would still recommend 4 people for the best experience. Always great hosting at this venue!

We had two children - 9 and 12 with us and they loved this room. Luckily it was non linear so non of us were waiting around too much. There were some puzzles that relied heavily on one person but we gave them to the kids to complete. It was challenging in the right away. Didn’t take too long to figure out and got prompts when needed.

A good room to play whilst in Portsmouth.

Be wary that some of the crawl space is tight!

By far our favourite room we've done to date! Great build, unique and practical puzzles, very 'Crystal mazey' and not a padlock in sight! The most physical one we've done. Host Philip was amazing, stayed in character and interacted with us constantly. 5 stars all the way!

A great room, lots of chambers and little crawly spaces to get into. Some very hard puzzles, one of which we were told we are the only people ever to complete without a clue so... that was flattering.

Well worth doing.

Wow! This room was amazing our GM was great and stayed in character even when there was an alarm going off in the building.
The ending was so clever I can't believe how magical it felt. Really reccomend this game

My favourite theme is a temple, and I’m always excited when a temple game lives up to the possibilities the theme provides of creating a true adventure. Journey to Xibalba does exactly that, and provides (up to) 90 minutes of pure joy.
