Puzzles in space!

A nicely put together traditional escape room with lots of locks and well-done puzzles. We felt there was a flow all the way through the game and while we might not have known why we did things, most of the time we knew what to do. Some puzzles looked tedious at first glance, but when we had to do them, they were easier than we thought.

We really liked these puzzles with a Star Trek geeky spin. We didn't feel stuck once but did need a bit of help to connect two parts of a puzzle (clocks). It didn't feel obvious to us, so a bit of signposting might have helped. The hint system worked well though.

A solid game.

The game is built on Telescape - early version with text field. Navigation was a bit tough for one player but the other player had no problems, so it might come down to the individual setup.

This was a traditional and lock-heavy game but contained some good puzzles.  We enjoyed it overall, however, there was a point in the game when we were missing an item that we needed to progress and the only hints available told us what to do with that item, but not where we could find it.  So there was some frustration and that spoiled things a bit.   We re-searched everywhere, eventually found the item and finished.  Aside from that one issue, everything worked well and it's a good game for the price.

Our first game at Xscape Now, and have to say it was loads of fun. Being a fan of all things space, the theme was really appealing, and as soon as you set foot in the room you’re drawn in and want to explore. The puzzles were fun and stayed on theme, and the hosting was great, as it always is here. We played as a team of two and only needed a couple of nudges in the right direction.

When picking a game at random at a venue I often default to the sci-fi option, and it was on that basis that I booked into Xscape Now’s Red Planet Panic. This one puts you on a base on Mars after a meteor strike has knocked out most of the systems, which you need to bring back online so that you can escape before a follow-up meteor storm obliterates the base. (It would be pure pedantry to ask why the escape pod system only works once everything else is restored...)
